Theme Exhibition <비인간, 인간을 넘어 인간으로 NONHUMAN>
The theme of the Seoul International Book Fair 2023 is "비인간, 인간을 넘어 인간으로 NONHUMAN".
Earth in the 21st century has been shattered by extinctions, disasters, the “great acceleration,” tipping points, and ecological crises on a planetary scale. While we know the world, built upon our anthropocentrism, is slowly headed for catastrophe, we also know there’s nowhere else to turn.
The emergence of a new geological epoch called the Anthropocene, which typifies the hybrid disaster facing us, reflects our changing perspectives on this human crisis. We must now confront agonizing realities and phenomena that were once unthinkable, and we are ready to open that door and gaze inside.
There’s no telling what awaits us in the reality we must confront.
We hope that the 600 books curated under the theme 비인간, 인간을 넘어 인간으로 NONHUMAN will help you to freely explore the possibilities of “another world” as you search for new forms of life and relationships beyond humanity.
